LifeReceipt is made by Life Receipt, LLC, a Mississippi limited liability company. This explains what the app collects, why, and how to get rid of it.

The short version

What we collect

Account information

When you create an account we store an email address and an account identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever see Apple's private relay address.

What you enter in the app

The hours, apps, purchases, goals, and notes you log to build your receipts, plus the receipts and refunds generated from them. This is stored against your account so it's there when you reopen the app or sign in on another device.

Health data

If you grant permission, LifeReceipt reads steps, workouts, and sleep from Apple Health to verify that you've earned a refund. We use it for that and nothing else. We do not use Health data for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not disclose it to third parties for advertising. You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → LifeReceipt, and the rest of the app keeps working.

Subscription information

Purchases go through Apple. We never see your card details. We receive a receipt and an entitlement status so the app knows whether you're subscribed.

Diagnostics

We collect basic crash and error information — device model, iOS version, what the app was doing when it broke — so we can fix it.

What we don't collect

No contacts, no photos, no location, no browsing history, and no automatic reading of your device's Screen Time data. Your camera and microphone are not used.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make the app run, and only for that purpose:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. When you do, we delete your account data from our live systems within 30 days; encrypted backups age out on a rolling basis after that. Some records — for example proof of a transaction — may be kept where the law requires.

Your choices

If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights over your personal data — access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection. Email us and we'll honour them without making you jump through hoops. We won't treat you differently for exercising them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our storage provider, and access is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise.

Children

LifeReceipt isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

International users

We operate from the United States, and your information is processed there. By using the app you understand your data will be handled under US law.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and we'll tell you in the app if the change is significant.
